VACANCY – LABOURER

St. Vincent Electricity Service Limited (VINLEC) is seeking to recruit a hardworking and dependable individual for the job of Labourer at the Lowmans Bay Power Station. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out general duties (mainly of a manual nature) as required at the assigned power station or site.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will be tasked with several duties which include:

 Keeping the grounds in and around the plant clean and tidy by performing all the usual types of duties of outdoor housekeeping chores

 Carrying out all types of labour chores which may be involved in general repairs to equipment, plant buildings etc., both indoor and outdoor

 Operating manually-operated overhead cranes and hoists

 Functioning as a cleaner insider the main plant and offices as required

 Keeping the generating units and auxiliary equipment clean

 Pumping out waste from fuel/oil trap into drums.

The employee will also be expected to comply with all relevant safety regulations and guidelines applicable to the power plant operation.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 Completion of at least two (2) years secondary school education OR primary school leaving certificate
