VACANCY – COMMUNICATIONS ASSISTANT (DIGITAL CONTENT & SOCIAL MEDIA)

St. Vincent Electricity Service Limited (VINLEC) is seeking to recruit an innovative, dynamic and results-oriented individual to fill the position of Communications Assistant (Digital Content & Social Media).

 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the Communications Officer, the Communications Assistant (Digital Content & Social Media) supports the Company’s function through the planning, preparation, scheduling and monitoring of content for social media platforms, website and other digital channels. He/she will also contribute to timely, accurate and engaging internal and external communication, public education, campaigns and corporate initiatives. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the development and implementation of social media plans, digital communication tactics and campaign schedules

  • Creating and maintaining monthly content calendars for approved digital platforms

  • Drafting, scheduling and publishing approved content for social media, Company

    website and other digital channels

  • Assisting with updating and maintain website and digital platform content to ensure information is timely, accurate and consistent.

  • Supporting communication activities for campaigns, events, outages, safety initiatives, customer education and corporate programmes.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Degree, Diploma or equivalent qualification in Media and Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations or a related field

  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a communication, media, marketing, digital content or related environment

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  •  Proven understanding and practical use of major social media platforms and digital

    communication channels

  • Ability to draft captions, notices, web updates and short-form content within approved

    brand and communication standards

  • Good organisational and time management skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Attention to detail, accuracy and consistency
