VACANCY – LINE SUPERVISOR

A vacancy exists within the Company for a highly motivated and organised individual to fill the position of Line Supervisor. This opportunity offers the prospects of a rewarding and professional experience.

JOB SUMMARY

The individual will be responsible for carrying out circuit switching on the T&D system and ensuring that planned and unplanned work undertaken by line maintenance crews are done in accordance with the switching schedules. He/she will also be required to test and earth de-energized lines, issue permit-to-work, conduct job safety briefings and dispatch crews with sufficient instructions to carry out assigned work. He/she will be required to ensure that the job site is cleared of debris and waste material after the completion of work; keep maintenance and construction work records and assist with work plans and material schedule. The successful candidate will also be tasked with ensuring that work is done in accordance with VINLEC safety regulations, rules and procedures. He/she will conduct inspection of tools, climbing gears, personal protective equipment, instruments and vehicles for safe conditions and any other duties assigned by the T&D Engineer that relate to company business.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

 Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a City & Guilds Technical Certificate

 Three (3) years work-related experience

 Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

 Strong oral and written communication

 Strong interpersonal skills

 Proficient in the use of relevant computer applications and systems
