VACANCY – ELECTRICIAN 3

A vacancy exists within the Company for a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the post of Electrician 3. The successful applicant will be responsible for checking and carrying out electrical maintenance diesel generators and auxiliary equipment and assist with protection and instrumentation work carried out by the division. These duties will be carried out with substantial supervision and instruction.

JOB SUMMARY

The successful applicant will be required to take field measurements, assist with the installation of new and repaired equipment as well as carrying out electrical maintenance such as clean and repair motors, oil switches, controllers, alarms, prime mover, speed controls, circuit breakers and install new motor and lighting circuits as required. The candidate will operate and maintain portable and fixed electric drills, propane torch, power hacksaw, grinder, soldering iron, overhead crane and assist with the implementation of site and plant modifications and improvements according to approved plans and perform related tasks as required. He/she will be required to comply with all relevant Safety regulations and guidelines applicable to Power Station Operation.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Candidates should have at least 5 CSEC/GCSE O’Levels including Mathematics and English Language and a related Science subject
• Successful completion of an Electrical programme at a Vocational/Technical Institute with City & Guilds passes or equivalent
• A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the Electrical field
