VACANCY – STATION SUPERVISOR (CANOUAN)

 

St. Vincent Electricity Services Limited (VINLEC) generates, transmits and distributes electricity to customers across the multi-island state through the operation of nine Power Stations; five on mainland and four in the Grenadines. The Company is seeking a highly motivated individual with exceptional leadership skills to fill the position Station Supervisor - Canouan.

 

Under the direction of the Plant Engineer, the Station Supervisor will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Station, including Customer Service and Transmission and Distribution related functions. The successful candidate will supervise all employees and will have responsibility for managing administrative tasks.

 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The successful candidate will be required to monitor the performance of the Generation, Transmission and Distribution and Customer Services systems on the island to ensure maximum efficiency, availability and reliability. He/she will be required to assist with the supervision of maintenance, construction and installation of equipment.

 

The Station Supervisor will also be responsible for carrying out routine inspections of the Station and the Transmission and Distribution network, maintaining all necessary operating records, and inspecting tools and safety equipment. He/she will be required to assist with the investigation of customer/public complaints and perform related tasks as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • A Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Technology, Business Management or equivalent

 

  • A minimum of four (4) years’ experience in power systems operations and transmission and distribution of electricity, or seven (7) in a supervisory capacity.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
